Celebration of life for Winona Butcher-Taber will be held on 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at the Assembly of God Church in Hugo, OK with Pastor Keithen Brown officiating; burial will follow at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, OK. Winona went to be with the Lord peacefully at her home on Monday, February 14, 2022, in Hugo, OK at the age of 89.
Winona Butcher-Taber was born December 16, 1932, to Porter and Dovie (Murray) Campbell, in Soper, OK. She married Doyle Butcher on June 22, 1950 in Hugo, OK and after his passing on April 7, 2000, she later married Vernon Taber on March 22, 2003. Winona had lived in this area for the past 21 years after moving here from Bethany, OK. She was a homemaker and worked as a court clerk for the city of Bethany, OK. Winona attended the Wesley Methodist church and was a member of the Assembly of God Church, the Mothers InterSe, the Iris Garden Club, and was a volunteer at the Choctaw Memorial Hospital. She will truly be missed by all that knew and loved her. Winona was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Doyle Butcher in 2000; her second husband, Vernon Taber in 2012.
Winona is survived by her son, Marlin R. Butcher and wife, Nita of Lindsey, OK; her daughters, Donna Wilberger of Hugo, OK and Darlene Cavender of Harrisburg, OR; brother, William Edward Campbell; sisters, Billie Joan Mitchell, Margie Rogers and E.Yvonne Scott; 5 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; numerous friends and other family members.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM. at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo, OK
