She worked numerous jobs in Hugo and Houston before marrying fellow Hugo resident, Bill Morton in 1952. As a couple they traveled to numerous areas in the US before settling in New Hampshire in the early 1960’s. After retiring in 1988, Wanda and Bill returned to their beloved Hugo, OK where they lived a peaceful life of service to the church for Wanda and enjoying the fruits of Lake Hugo for Bill.
In life Wanda was a loving mother, loyal friend and devoted wife to Billy Morton for 63 years until his passing in 2015. She was always known to put the needs of her family and friends ahead of her own. Wanda was an accomplished vocalist, adding her sweet voice to The Heaven’s Harvest Church of God Choir in Hugo, OK from mid-1990’s until her health forced her to move to Durant, OK in 2010. In addition to singing with the choir she regularly traveled throughout the region along with two of her choir-mates delighting church services wherever they went.
