Funeral services will be on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at the Unity Baptist Church in Hugo, OK at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Burgie Thompson officiating, and burial following at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, OK. Mildred Edna Williams, age 85, of Hugo, OK died on January 4, 2009 in Hugo, OK Mildred Edna Williams was born on July 24, 1923 in Rover, Arkansas, the daughter of Sherwood Kirkland and Rachel Rosana Dickinson. She married Thomas Douglas Williams on August 9, 1941 in Hugo, Oklahoma. She has lived in this area most of her life and was an active member of the Unity Baptist Church, serving as pianist for services and wherever they went for Bible studies. During her life, she worked for the Robert E. Lee lunch room, as a CNA for Ruffin Nursing Home, and as a CNA & medication nurse at the Golden Age Home for 30 years before retiring in 1999. Mildred loved to cook and bake. She took joy in baking cakes, just to give away to others. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 67 years, Thomas Douglas Williams, on November 28, 2008, four sisters, Cloie Kirkland, Euda Rainey, Sue Seaton, & Billie Burrough, and one brother, Wilbur Kirkland. Mildred is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law: Tom & Robbie Williams of Bartlesville, OK, Gary & Norrine Williams of Blossom, TX; two daughters and sons-in-law: Wylane & Ricky Clark of Austin, TX, Shirley & Don Armes of Hugo, OK; one brother: Dennis Kirkland of Casa Grande, AZ; one sister: Shirley Winberry of Hisparia, CA; 13 Grandchildren, 23 Great-Grandchildren and 9 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
