Obituary
Mayola Kay Brownfield, age 64, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on August 9, 2020 in Hugo, Oklahoma, after a battle with cancer.
She married Larry Joe Brownfield on Nov 13, 1972 in Hugo, Oklahoma. She and Larry made their home in Valliant, Oklahoma where they raised three sons.
Kay was a dedicated mother and wife, who enjoyed taking care of all her boys.
She found joy in cooking, and preparing meals for her family and she was known by many for her famous German Chocolate Cake. Kay's favorite name to answer to was Mimi, which her three granddaughters called her. Spending time with them was her favorite thing to do, and brought her so much happiness.
Kay is survived by her husband, Larry Joe Brownfield, of the home; son, Jason Brownfield and wife Elizabeth of Hugo, Oklahoma, granddaughters, Zandria, Charis, and Celia Brownfield; Son, Nathan Brownfield of Valliant, Oklahoma; and brother, Richard Thompson of Hugo, Oklahoma.
Kay is preceded in death by her parents, Hansel Thompson and Patsy Ruth (Hunter) Thompson; son, Joseph Todd Brownfield; brother, Hansel Thompson Jr.; and sister, Rebecca Thompson.
A memorial service honoring the life of Mayola Kay Brownfield will be held Saturday, August 15th, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo, Oklahoma with Randy Mayfield officiating.
