Mary Louise Walker Pinkston was born October 5, 1928, in Hamden, Oklahoma, to Della Dixon Walker and James B. Weaver Walker. She passed on to her heavenly home on April 15, 2020, at the age of 91 years and 6 months and 10 days. She married William (Bill) Erwin Pinkston on October 20, 1945. When she was 11 years old, she accepted Jesus during an old brush arbor revival. Mary was a Baptist by faith and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Hugo, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker for most of her life. She enjoyed playing cards and dominos and working in the ladies’ auxiliary of Pushmataha County Hospital.
She is preceded in death by her husband Bill, her parents J.B. and Della Walker, brothers Frank, Loyd, J.T., and Doyle, and sisters Dorothy Ann, Ruby Irene , and Nancy Mae Walker Shabow. She is survived by a sister Betty Lavonne Baldwin of Kent, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her children: Jim Pinkston and wife Glenda of McKinney, Texas; Elaine Crawford and husband Steve of Corinne, Oklahoma; Linda Hawkins and husband Jimmy of Rattan, Oklahoma; Shawn Pinkston and wife Shelly of Rattan, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Brian and wife Cheryl Pinkston; Chris Pinkston; Ashley and wife Alison Hawkins; Melissa and husband Brett Miller; Jason and wife Angelena Pinkston; John and wife Stephanie Crawford; Mandy Crawford; and Jalyn and husband Matthew Barcheers. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren: Madison and Hunter Hawkins; Lauren Pinkston; Faith and Asa Miller; Brielle Roberts and Camille Barcheers; Lillian Crawford; and William Pinkston. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Her body will rest at Rattan Cemetery next to her husband Bill, but don’t look for her there. She’s with Jesus.
