Harris Neil Carroll, 81, of Ft. Towson Oklahoma passed away Friday May 13, 2022.
Neil, as he was known to his family and friends was born October 26, 1940, in Iuka, Mississippi to Harris and Grace (Anditon) Carroll. He moved with his family to Childers Hill, Tennessee in 1951.
Neil worked for Tennessee River Pulp & Paper before taking a job with Weyerhaeuser Co. and moving to Idabel, Oklahoma in 1971. During his working years he worked for Brown & Root including a stint on an offshore oil rig in the North Sea.
Upon settling back in the states, he landed in Ft. Towson, Oklahoma. Along with Mary Loar they built and operated Ft. Towson Cable TV along with Soper Cable. They ran both companies for 30 plus years. Neil also served as Mayor of Ft. Towson and later served on the City Council. He had a great love for the town.
Neil was preceded in death by his parents Harris and Grace Carroll. Five sisters; Janette Patterson, Myra Byrd, Josie Morris, Judy Gober and Alma Crowley and two brothers; Wayne Carroll and Melvin Carroll.
Survivors include three sisters; Stella Ray, Ann (Ben) Williams, and Linda (Dwain) Ard. His two children, Teresa (Brett) Budd of Newton, Kansas and Rick (Lisa) Carroll of Gaffney, South Carolina along with a stepson Jon (Penny) Loar of Ft. Towson, Oklahoma. He has six grandchildren of whom he was extremely proud. Kyle, Carly and Casey Budd of Newton, Kansas, Whitney Kane and fiancé Kevin Hanger of Omaha, Nebraska and Halleigh and Sam Carroll of Gaffney, South Carolina. He has two great-grandchildren, Gabby and Mikey Kane and a great-grandson Hudson, on the way, all of Omaha, Nebraska. He is also survived by Mary Loar of Ft. Towson, Oklahoma. He has many nieces and nephews all of whom he loved dearly and that in turn loved their Uncle Neil.
Burial will take place in Tennessee at Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery.
