Dudley Hamilton, born January 12, 1929, made his journey to the great lot in the sky on April 20, 2020. Dudley lived his life with the same humorous and surprising zest that he would use to tell a story. His list of careers included Texas Highway Patrolman, Farmer, and Circus Booking Agent. Mr. Hamilton had the honor of writing a training manual for the Air Force Police training school. As was his way, he committed fully to his careers and hobbies. Dudley's hobbies and interests included piloting; playing the saxophone; breeding and training a long line of championship Collies, winning AKC dog shows nationwide; and, upon retirement, running away to join the Carson and Barnes and Kelly Miller circuses. People gravitated to his larger than life humor, a gift that he shared freely. You haven't lived until you've laughed-until-you-cry at a story that was expertly crafted by Dudley. His easy humor and ability to render a room helpless and gasping, beating their legs with guffaws and peels of laughter, made him a favorite friend of many.
Dudley was preceded in death by his parents Dudley, Sr. and Evie Hamilton, son Keith Hamilton, and six brothers and sisters. His daughter Carol Trueblood, and grand-children Melissa Velasco, Clint Hamilton, Amy Hamilton, and Jennifer Hamilton, will miss him dearly.
May your journey to the great circus in the sky be swift and full of joy. We will think of you every time we see cotton candy, fresh roasted peanuts, trapeze, wire acts, and elephants on parade. You were, and always will be, the kind of father and grandpa that fairy tales and movies are made of. You taught us that magic exists under the big top.
We honor you as you take your place among the circus greats at Showman's Rest in Hugo, OK.
