Corine Colby, age 95, of Sulphur Springs, TX, formerly of Hugo, died Saturday, January 24. She was born September 15, 1913, in Delta County, TX, the daughter of James Edward and Mary Eva Ann (Gibson) Taylor. She moved to Hugo in 1959 from Cooper, TX and had lived in this area for 46 years before moving to Sulphur Springs, TX about 4 years ago to be near family. Corine married Orville Archey Colby in June of 1959 in Hugo, OK. She worked as a cook in many cafs and was of the Methodist faith. She enjoyed crochet, hand crafts, and word finds. Corine was preceded in death by her husband: Orville; her parents; seven brothers: Herbert Taylor, Arvie Chester Taylor, Elwin Taylor, Noyce Ramsy Taylor, Curtis Taylor, Louis Taylor, Glenn Taylor; two sisters: Ellen Ruth Taylor, Velma Taylor. She is survived by one sister: Irene Taylor of California; two brothers: James Edward Taylor, Jr of Ohio, Leon Taylor of Houston, Texas; several nieces and nephews of many generations. A celebration of Corines life will be held Monday, January 26, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel with burial following at the Mt Olivet Cemetery.
