Funeral services for Carol Lee Houchen will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo, OK with Bart Barber officiating. Carol passed away Monday, November 30, 2020, in Denison, Texas at the age of 80.
Carol Lee Houchen was born October 31, 1940, to John Preston and Viola (Whitlock) Davis, in Arlington, Texas. She moved to Soper, OK in 1961 and worked at Wells Lamont Glove Factory. In 1970 she was the first woman ever to go to work for the Frisco Railroad. While working for the railroad, she met David Houchen and they married on June 4, 1976. They later lived in Montana and Arkansas before moving to Trenton, Texas to be near family. Carol is preceded in death by her parents.
Carol is survived by her husband, David Houchen of the home; three children, Tami Myers and husband Ray of Whitewright, TX, Ken Davis and wife Lori of Farmersville, TX and David Davis and wife Lanette of Blue Ridge, TX; two step-children, Emily Whitbeck and husband Mike of Hugo, OK and Howard Houchen and wife Jeannie of Hugo, OK; sisters, Patricia Wyrick of Luella TX, and Donna Kendrick and husband Bob of Hurst, TX; brothers, Wayne Foster and wife Cindy of Glen Rose, TX and Phillip Myers of Great Falls, MT; grandchildren, Blake Whitbeck and wife, Hollie, Mendy Anthony, Dillon Davis, Jake Davis and wife Halee, Jesse Myers, Staci Myers, Kalina Davis, Jared Houchen, Byron Powell, and Baylee Hughes and husband Clay, Collin Houchen and wife Kristen; great-grandchildren, Michael Whitbeck, Cale Anthony, Porter Anthony, Hudson Houchen, Harper Houchen and Brylee Hughes
