Carlton Makerney

Graveside services for Carlton Makerney will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022, at 2:00 pm at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, OK with Ronnie Miller officiating. Carlton passed away  Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at his home in Sawyer, OK at the age of 83.

Carlton Makerney was born August 9, 1939, to Coke and Hattie Ruth (Pearson) in Oklahoma, City, OK. He had lived in this area most of his life and worked as a truck driver. Carlton served his country in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed riding motor bikes and especially enjoyed his grandchildren.

Carlton was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; sons, Gary Makerney; brother, Coke Makerney; and nephews, Carlton and Jason Makerney.

Carlton is survived by his sons, Jack Makerney, James Makerney, Jerry Makerney, John Makerney, Glen Makerney, Scot Makerney, and Shawn Makerney; sister, Patsy Durham; Brothers, Steve Makerney and Joe Makerney; 21 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

The family would like say a special thank you to Mrs. Lori Lynn Makerney for her special care.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 20th, 2022, at 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM. at the Prater-Lampton-Mills and Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo, OK.
