Graveside services for Annette Joyce Millsap-Staton, fondly known as "Mamanette" will be held on Monday, February 8, 2021 at the Springs Chapel Cemetery in Hugo, Oklahoma with Mike Grisby officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Rex Moffatt, Stan Self, Danny Allen, Mark Pulliam, Earl Wayne Cole and Sabin Bruno. Annette went to be with the Lord on February 3 , 2021, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 83.
Annette Joyce Millsap-Staton was born August 18, 1937, to Bruce Millsap and Mildred (Helton) Millsap-Hayes, in Forney, Oklahoma. She was a lifelong resident of the Hugo, OK area and a member of the Church of Christ. Annette graduated from Goodland High School, and received her Associates Degree from Paris Jr. College in Paris, TX. Annette married John Thomas Staton, Sr. on December 2, 1958 in Wichita Falls, TX. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Pushmataha County District Attorney's Office. Annette liked to watch Nascar, working in her flower garden and keeping a diary. She loved being a wife and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Annette was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, Bruce and Mildred Millsap; son, Randy Bruce Staton; granddaughter, Kayrene "Karo" Moffitt; sister-in-law, Mary Paula Staton.
Annette is survived by her daughters, Melissa Ann Robinson and husband Gary of Hugo, OK, Margaret Loftin and husband Lynn of Messer, OK ; her sons, John Thomas Staton, Jr and wife Evelyn of Hugo, OK, Jayson Staton and wife Lynda of Hugo, OK, Dennis Staton and wife Connie of Hugo, OK and Albert Coy Staton and wife Lawana of Pocahontas, AR; sister Joy Millsap Easley and husband Johnny of Talco, TX; best friend Pat Young of Hugo, OK; 21 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 7th, 2021 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM. at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home
